    Local Marriage Customs.

    Long ago the marriage customs were that the father of the girl would go to the boy's house and see what land he had. Then the father would give £100 or £200 with the girl.The next day the boy would go to see the girl and buy the ring. The girl's father would then give the boy the £100 or £200 and they would fix a day for the marriage . Shrovetide is generally the for marriages.
    The bride and bridegroom generally wear blue that is a colur for luck.The morning of the marriage the father of the bride gives her to her intended husband
