Some Sunday soon after the wedding a kippin' was held on the married couple. They went to a fort or cross road and all the young boys and girls of the district gathered there. A dance was held for a few hours and the person who was M.C. at the dance had a small piece of a stick in his hand. This was the kippin'. The boys and girls formed a ring and the boy who had the kippin' threw it at some girl - usually the one he liked best.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
