called the Bog-Wood in Willsgrove about a mile away from my house. The wood is thickly covered by shrubs of different kinds. Mid-way running through the wood, is a stream, and at this time it had dried up. At the bottom of this stream they saw a little man, about fourteen inches in height running along in the bed of the dried. He was dressed in a bright red coat and cap and there was a tassel on the cap. He had a pair of shoes with a curve in the top of them. He had a little bit of beard and looked very funny. Some of them got afraid and ran off to Martin Conry's house near-by. Conry was a wood-ranger at that time. They told him the story. Martin said "nonsense" and he went back to see if there were any tracks, but there was no trace of any thing to be seen. The leprechawn was gone.
