  1. A very heavy fall of snow fell on night of February 24th 1933 and a wind drifted the snow so that no one could stir far from home. The snow remained for over a week and provisions ran short in some houses. A local man John Flynn improvised a kind of horse sleigh with which he brought some provisions from Tullow.
