    five storied structure. Considering the ravages of time and the havoc of Cromwell's artillery many parts of the building are still in excellent condition. The front entrance and outer parts are a mass of crumbling ruins. On a corner stone embedded in the wall are the initials, R.F. (Roberty Fleming)
    During the period when the presnt church was being built Divine Service was held in a portion of the castle (1870).
