    The \Slasher from Cavan's green side,
    Around him blazed many a sabre,
    And above him his banner speard wide
    Scant greeting had he for a Scotsman
    Who came in the garb of a foe,
    And, full stout was the foeman who'd brave him.
    They knew well the weight of his blow.
