  1. In the Protestant Church of Clonartd stands an old font of St. Fenian. When the church was given to the Protestants it is said they removed the font but it was replaced by a miracle. The holy water is always in the bottom of the font and the Protestants tried to remove it by every means but it was always preserved miraculously.
    In Clonard also, are the remains of an old monastery where the monks were educated. It is said that there was an underground tunnell from Clonard to Donore (a distance about three miles) and it is said that as the first monk had reached Donore the last was leaving Clonard.
