  1. A certain man in Querrin used to take care of St Martins well. He had a field of oats near the well. The oats were being stolen every night and he could not catch the thief. At last he said he would not have any more to do with the well if St Martin did not find the thief for him.
    That very night the thief came and took a beart of corn and put it on his back but could not stir from where he was. In the morning the owner of the field came and caught the robber.
