    She reached John Moran's hill quite safely, and began taking the downward slope, when suddenly the load on her back was eased and without warning she felt herself gathering speed until at last she fell headlong into a clump of bushes. Jim by this had gone wild round the island, fingering lovingly the little pocket-knife that had helped him open up a hole to safety.
