    their houses that night. They said they would bring the others across in their boats. They did not agree but went off home.
    When they had nearly arrived home they began to quarrel and the boat upset and they were all drowned. There was one girl that did not go with them. She went in a river boat the following day. In that disaster there were 16 or 17 lives lost. There was a song composed about this drowning accident -

    From Moyne Quay they sailed away
    To Tarbert they were bound
    And little was their notion
    That night for to be drowned.
