  1. There are many stories told about the Bean Sidhe appearing in lonely districts to warn the people of coming troubles.
I heard a story of a man and his son who returned home from a fair late one night. While preparing their supper they heard a wailing cry coming toward the house. It came nearer and nearer.
Then they heard a voice saying "beware, beware". On opening the door they saw a frail little woman going down the path way tearing her hair and lamenting and disappeared in the darkness. They could not understand the cause of her visit but on the following night to their horror they found their house burnt.
