  1. On the road to Cootehill there is a dark place called Shaun Barrel. Mr. O'Reilly tells me there is a Ghost at that place. It seems a man mick named Shaun Barrel had a row with a bailiff and the bailiff persecuted and annoyed him so far that Shain died of despair. One night the bailiff was coming home on horseback from Cootehill and at that place the horse started to and plunge. The bailiff was heard to shout "stand back Shaun Barrel" The horse threw him into the ditch and he was killed.
