  1. There are few local people who have made their name popular in their time.
    Peter Smith was a local poet. He lived in the townland of Moher parish of Lavey.
    He composed many songs on the events of his time. He lived at the time of the Land League and the Crowbar Brigade and he made songs on both.
    Some of his songs are still sang by the older people.
