One family had fever and others had law so they were much better to leave it alone. People from far and near came to this well to be cured. There is a story told about a man who tried to pollute the well. He threw a dog with a very infectious disease into it. This man too the very same disease himself and died as a result of it. At that time the well was at the head of the field but after the dog was thrown in, it moved to the foot of it. The man who threw the dog in the well was named George Wilson. This happened about eighteen eighteen.
