  1. Local Happenings
    Long ago about 40 years ago, there was a murder in our locality. It was called 'Kings murder'. A man the name of Philip King murdered his wife and mother in law , and his two children died of want. King and his wife disagreed for some time and he left her and hired with a man at Carrickmacross 'She owned the place'. One night when they were sleeping, he came and killed them, he broke in the window as they had the door bolted. They were not found for 3 days. King did not plead guilty
