  1. Long ago the people were afraid of fairies. If a cow calved for the first time, the people thought it was a custom for a fairy woman or bean síde to come and milk her.
    The people thought if the fairy would milk her, that she would yield no butter on her milk. The people tied a red rag to the cow's tail. The people thought this would keep them away.
