  1. The children in the olden times had not many toys as the children have now. The girls in the olden times made dolls out of cloth. There were not as many toys as there are now.
    The girls used to make dolls out of turnips. They cut two eyes and a nose and a mouth. The boys had wooden horses and some of them had rockers on them. There were wooden dolls also. There was a Jack in the box for a toy also.
