    In former days the people would not wear boots until they were able to earn them. There are a few families round Cortown bog who never ware boots or shoes, and would not think anything of paddling about in the snow.
    There are boots and shoes repaired locally.
    There are clogs worn locally.
    There was leather made in this district in former times.
