    A person born on Whit Sunday or during Whit week was called a "kinkasheen" and was supposed to have the "evil eye". It was said they could "overlook" anything they laid their eyes upon and that it withered away and died. But if a green sod was placed over the person or animal overlooked no evil results would follow.
    A piece of eel skin wound over the wrist was a cure for "thaula"
