  1. In 1897 when during the erec. of the building W.F. McClintock Esq later Sen. Inspector of N.SS was passing & observing that the Letter "S" was omitted after the word "school" on the date stone drew the attention of the clerk of works to the omission.
    A stone cutter from Ross was sent for and he placed the "S" after Carrigan & the inscription then read Carrigans National School 1897.
