  1. In Ireland long ago there were a lot of strange animals. In our locality about 60 years ago a man named Mick King was coming home at a late hour in the night.
    As he was passing "The Scordans" he heard something rattling in the ditch and a big turkey cock came out on the road and began to coach around him and would not let him by.
    In the same place in Carrickacleven there was an old graveyard and some of the bones was got when Dan and Pat Brady was making the road leading from Donohoe's Cross to Corr's Cross. No one nearby knows that there was ever a graveyard there.
    There is a lake called Lough Ellim and a long time ago there were water horses in it. There was a man,
