  1. There is a number of hidden in the Derries. On the North end of Daoi[?[ Mór there is a pan of gold and a chain and pistol hid. It was hidden by the Danes. One day when a man named Patrick Masterson was making a ditch he got the chain and pan. There is a crock of gold hidden beside Carnagh river. Many old people dreamt of it but they never looked for it. It is said that it is minded by water cats and a life is to be lost at the digging for it. It is worth about five hundred pounds.
    On an island in Carnagh lough a man named John Reilly found a bar of gold
