    getting into bed:-
    Sweet Jesus the rose,
    Sweet Mary the flower,
    Sweet Jesus, Mary and Joseph, be with me at my dying hour.
    When kindling the fire say:- The Lord protect us from the flames of hell, the pain of purgatory and bring us to life everlasting, Amen.
    There was an old man named James Connolly who lived in this town a long time ago and when the Angelus bell would ring he would say:-

    Here is a prayer to stop bleeding:- As Jesus was born in Bethlehem, baptised in the river Jordan the day being fine and the water being clear and good. As Jesus came the water stood and in him wounds and by His name command the blood to do the same.
