  1. One night a man named Paddy Brady who lived in Main St. Arva was coming from a house after playing cards. The whole way home a woman whom he knew was long dead walked with him. He was frightened and when he reached his own door the woman disappeared and he fainted. It is supposed that she used to appear regularly because it was said her husband knocked her down the stairs and broke her neck, and she died suddenly. Her name was Mrs Cosgrove and she lived where Leonard's shop is now.
