  1. Ireland is an agricultural country, and wheat, oats, rye, barley, potatoes, and cabbage are grown. We live on these crops mostly, and as well as these we have herbs growing. Old people say that there is no cure as good as that given by the land.
    The dandelion when boiled in milk is very good for consumption and for people who have haemorrhage. Sorrel is very good for bad breath. People who have asthma drink water steeped over-night in gorse. Rag-worth when boiled in water is good for sores. Nettles when boiled in milk purify the blood. Snails cure warts. The dock leaf cures
