  1. It is said that there is a hidden treasure in Caher Hill about three miles north of Kilmihil. About nine hundred years ago, the Danes lived in this hill.
    Inside the hill there is a pillar, and tied to that pillar is a chain. This chain goes underground to the bottom of a lake about three hundred yards away. At the end of the chain there is a barrel of gold and a bull minding it.
    About three years ago, men went digging the hill expecting to find some proof of the gold being there.
