    about forty years ago on the site of a thatched house.
    There are four people over seventy in the townland; their names are:-
    Margaret Conlon
    Drumnalara
    Ballinagh
    Patrick Hoey
    Drunmnalara
    Mrs Colwell
    Drumnalara
    Dan Brady
    Drumnalara
    If the old people of the townland were asked do they know Irish they say "No"; yet never a day passes but they unconsciously make use of many Irish words.
    Very many household words used driving and calling farm, pet names and nicknames used by the old people are Irish. The following collection I have gathered from my parents and from the above mentioned old people:-
    "Tioc, Tioc", said to call hens
    "Biadh, Biadh" said to call turkeys
    "Deoch, Deoch" said to call pigs
