    but I failed to get exact details of any challenges. It seems the local cross roads and mills often saw great feats of strength displayed.
    Patrick Boylan carried a 30 stone bag of oats under each arm into the Market House in Ballinagh.
    Pat McCormac lifted a tombstone and carried it ten yards.
    Tomas Cronan carried a plough from Mullakoran to his home at Carrickabawn a distance of eight miles.
    John Lynch stood in a narrow river near his own home and two other men pulled a cart of hay across his back. He bent down on his hands to allow them to do it.
