  1. In Cavan the fairs are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month. Some months old fairs are held on certain days in those months. If it happens to fall on a Sunday the fair will be held on the next day. They are held on the following days;
    14th May, 14th August, and 12th November. The cattle fair is held on "The Gallow's Hill" while the horse fair is held in Farnham Street between Morgan's garage and Gordan's garage. At the Railway Road gipsies usually gather with a large amount of donkeys and ponies.
    The pig-fair is held in College Street, and the fowl-market is held in Connolly Street. Potatoes are sold in the
