  1. Scutch-grass as it is called is very harmful in crops it spreads rapidly and impoverish the ground. Thistles, Charlock and redshank are also injurious. Thistles and docks will be found on rich soil.
    Firs and rushes will be found on bad land. Hemlock is used for a swelling. It is stewed and applied as a poultice.
    Nettle-tea is given to children having measles. The nettle is stewed and the tea is used.
