  1. My Granny told me that about fifty years ago people by the name of O'Toole lived in a thatched house in Aughrim.
    They had a shop and bakery house attached to it.
    The floors were made of clay and the fire in the kitchen was on the hearth and the chimney was a big wide one. There was a half door on the shop. In years after Mr. Phelan bought the place and made it into a billiard room and it is there still.
