The way I make a "pop gun". I get a thick lump of a stick and get a red hot iron and bore a hole through the stick. I get a thin piece of a stick then, and stuff a piece of wet paper in the hole and shove the thin stick quickly and the paper flies out.
The "jenny-spinner" is like a top. It get a spool and a good sharp knife. Pare both sides till you come to the middle. Then break off.
