  1. Once upon a time there lived a man by the name of John Case, of Brittas, and every night he used come to the town. When he would be going home he used to get up in trees and behind ditches and everywhere to frighten people. In the end he got sick and died. His age was about seventy when he died.
    When he was about a week buried, the people could not pass the road at night. If they had a car or anything it would be turned at a certain hour in the night - from ten o'clock to twelve - and in the same place in the road.
