  1. Barnahask is certainly a bleak gap but it is also situated on top of a hill at The fort of Mt Leinster - therefore it may be Bearna Sheasc, or Barr na Seac.
    An interesting feature is that none of the farm houses are on the main road. There is a lane in to all of them.
    Some modern houses are built on the road-side.
    Sheep were reared in great numbers long ago. There are still some sheep raised on the surrounding hills. (?) is a favourite. Few people grow wheat.
