In a field here at Graiguenaspiddoge there was a Holy Well.

It is called Bridget's well. Many many years ago a family named James owned the land where it is. They were protestants. They filled up the well with stones and the horse that was drawing them fell under the last load and was choked. It is also said that the next child that was born in the family had water always running from his eyes and he remained so until the day he died.
