    in the sky it is the sign of rain in the near future. If the clouds gather in one place in the rainy point it is the sign of rainy weather. The old proverb says "A rainbow in the morning is a sailor's warning, a rainbow at night is a sailor's delight". When the wind blows from South or Southwest it brings softness, but rain also. "The North wind brings snow and severe weather. The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow that would cut the bill of a brass monkey" is a familiar saying with old people.
