  1. Local Hedge Schools.
    1. At the point where Old Leighlin Hill Road branches off the Banagragole Road, opposite the residence of Michale Murphy on left hand side of the road, was a hedge school. I have met old people who recollect this school The last techer was a Mr. McDonald.
    2. In Raheen Lane, about 200 yards from where it branches off the Barrack Hill Road, stands a small cemented wall, barring progress to a smaller branch lane. At this point I have been told there was another hedge school.
