    Jesus, tender shepherd, hear me,
    Bless Thy little child to night.
    In the darkness be Thou near me,
    Keep me safe till morning's light.
    All this day Thy hands have led me, And I thank Thee for Thy care.

    Listen to my evening prayer.

    Thou hadst nothing but a manger,
    Where to lay Thy sacred head.
