  1. There are two holy wells in the parish of Borris, one at Clooneygoose and the other at Kiltennel. People visit Clooneygoose well on the last Sunday in June and the parish priest says the Rosary there. There were several people cured at these blessed wells and particularly those who suffered from pains. People used to leave crutches and pieces of bandages and money there but this is not usual now. There is a bush growing beside the well in Kiltennel and it is called the "Roiligeen" bush probably from the fact that the graveyard is close by.
