are marked with raddel, or by cutting the hair with a scissors. There is a special fair for the horses. The halter or rope has to be given away, when the horse is sold.
The fairgreen in Graiguenamanagh is called the Barracks, because it is supposed to be where Hugh dubh O'Neill camped with his men waiting for Cromwell. In some places two-pence ahead has to be given for the cattle for payment going into the fair-green but not in Graignamanagh or Borris.
The largest attended fair in Tinnehinch Graiguenamanagh falls on the 29th of September or Michaelmas day and the 15th of August in Borris and Mayday.
