   The principal animals on the farm are the horses, cows, sheep, cattle and the domestic animals are the cat and dog and any other animals that are always in the house. Some cows have names and when you call them by that name they will come to you. The house in which the cows are kept is called the cowhouse. The cows when they are being milked are generally tied around the neck with a strong rope. A goat is supposed to be very lucky with cows. The house that the horse is kept in is called the stable. When the farmer wants his horse shod he must bring him to the forge. Some farmers buy the shoes and some get them made in the forge. The farmer clips the horse once a year and sells the hair.
