    and this is how he got the red breast.
    Crows and rooks are very plentiful here. They are the first to build their nests. They begin to build about the first of March. The crows put their nests on the tops of trees, in chimneys, or old ruins. Both rooks and crows like to build away from other birds, and a great number of a nests can usually be seen together.
    In the marshy places by the Shannon we have plenty of game birds, such as wild geese and duck and plover and in the heather covered bogs, and in the woods we have pheasants and other birds. These afford great pleasure to the sportsmen, who with dogs and guns, can be seen late and early when the shooting season is here.
