  1. There was a Leipreachan in the townland of Curraghlass, Parish of Ferbane, Co. Offaly. He dwell in a cullen in Curraghlassa. His hight was two ft. He wore a red coat and cap and a blue knee britches. He did nothing but soled his shoes on boots sitting under a rock.
    A man named mr. WIlliam Egan followed him to try to catch him but he did not succeed. A man named Tom Maher caught a Leipreachan. He asked him where was his gold. The Leipreachan said nothing. The man brought him into his house. He put the griddle on the fire and left it there until it was red. Then he said he would burn the Leipreachan. He was just putting him on the griddle when he told him where he had the gold.
