    The meaning of Kilfoylan is, that Saint Foylan built a church there hundreds of years ago. It is not known where the church was built but perhaps it was in a field called "the church fields". Joseph Higgins my father is the owner of the field. There is seven acres of land in it. One time when a man was digging there he dug up the side of a coffin. My great grandfather ?Its? would not sow potatoes there for he did so one time and they could not be eaten on account
