    Years ago it was common for people to take your butter, you could churn and churn for a long time and no butter would come on the cream. Then they would get a plough colter and put it in the fire to heat. Then they would put the chains that draw the plough around the churn. Then you would churn away and the colter would be getting red in the fire, and the neighbour that took your butter would come to the door in an awful heat and ask for a drink. No one could take your butter unless they had a cow or cows themselves.
