    In the parish of Rathmore which includes Killanne there is a townland called Grange.

    living - though one - Simon Dunne now deceased was one of the 1898 Comm. Comt. and his name is on the back of the Kelly monument.
    In Corrageen lane leading to Sliabh Bán is a place called at the present time "The Street" and known by that name in 1798. At present there are traces or ruins of about ten or twelve houses thare.
    There were about twenty young men from Corrageen at the battle of Ross. Amongst these was a famous weight thrower who was killed at Ross.
    On this day that the Kiledmond and Monks Grange forces were hunting down rebels - all the able bodied men ran from "the Street" when they saw the yeos coming. They ran down the west side of the hill through Whelans yard in the direction of the River Boro. - "Old" Whelan had two sons who took part in the battle of Ross
    They probably ran with those from "the Street"
    The father went out to see what caused the alarm, and looked in the direction of where the men were running. The Yeos were coming up the lane and could see Whelan but could not see where the young men had gone
    They knew that Whelan could tell where they had gone if he liked. The yeos came
