replied that he was going to
jump at Rosegarland Sports.
"If you cannot beat me," said
the other, "it is no use going
there for I have been beaten
there already."
Then they had a contest, and
the man, who was going to compete,
was defeated by the man who
was returning.
He then decided that there was
no use in going to the sports, and
he returned to Carlow with his
companion.
There is no record of the
nature of the leap, but there
is a record of the name of the
man who was defeated in
Rosegarland.
