  1. In parts of the district there are many wild birds to be found. There are crows, jack-daws, sparrows, swallows, sea-gulls, yellow-hammers, robbins, wrens hawks, snipes, wood-pidgeons, wild-duck, wild-geese, partridge, chaffinch, bull-finch, gold-finch, grey linnets, and green-linnets, There are two birds around that are not plentiful. The peacock and the peahen.
The peacock is so proud that when he looks down at his feet they are so ugly that he roars. The lark builds her nest on the ground in the bogs.
