  1. The fairs are held in the towns, which are Carnew, Bunclody, Ferns, and Enniscorthy. Carnew and Bunclody fairs are mostly held for sheep and cattle and pigs.
In Shillelagh there is a quarterly fair held for horses only, there is also another in Tinahely for horses. Fairs are not as good now as they were long ago, as prices have reduced on all kinds of stock.
In Carnew the fairs are held on the first Thursday after the twelfth of every month. It is always crowded and the majority of them buying scarcely anything, except sheep and cattle. The men go into the public houses to make bargains.
