  1. There are people in Carew by the name of Hillards who can make potato baskets. The farmers use those baskets for potato picking. Mr. John Levingstone can make fancy baskets.
    The blacksmith makes iron gates. Mr. John Kehoe made one for Mr. Read, he will make pot cranes also.
    There was a woman who came from Rathdrum to Carnew every fair day, and the farmers gave her wool and she took it away with her, and made it into thread and tweed. She brought it to them next fair day.
    Mr. Kehoe will make a rope for anyone who will supply him with binding twine.
    Mr. Doyle is called the cooper because he makes barrels and things like that. He puts bottoms in tubs for a half-crown, he has a good trade at making churns, and tubs, and barrells.
